Late Fall Islands (2007) Late Fall Islands is a collection of 13 one-of-a kind woven works designed to gracefully fill a wallspace approximately 20 feet long. Varying in size and shape, these islands may be purchased as a complete set for $4,800.00, or may be purchased individually or in a grouping consisting of any number of these islands which fit gracefully on your wall. Each island is framed in bittersweet and then woven, layer upon layer, with reeds in fall-tone yellows, oranges, browns, burgundy, and dark green. Landscape # 8 (2006) H 40" W 50" D 8" With this landscape I wanted to add more dimension than any of my previous landscapes (below) had had. When I looked at the mountains around me, I could see layers of colors. To achieve this effect, I added layers and layers of colors by weaving strands of reeds of various colors over the tops of each other. The mountains are woven in shades of greens, browns, some blues, chestnut and rust. The lake is woven in shades of blues, browns, and some greens. The frame is bittersweet. View enlargement.
