I am relentless in looking for new ways to express my weaving and decided try to understand the difference between my Woven Art and Abstract Painters and Abstract Expressionists. To do this, I wove an Abstract Art piece and then asked the great art community of professional artists, potters, jewelry makers, and more where my studio is located @ Whiting Mills in Winsted Connecticut to look at my work as it evolved. Each critique sparked my imagination and Stranger Things progressed and transformed not only while being woven, but also when finished. When first viewed, I was told it looked like the Galaxy, then Fireworks, after that – the “Future.” – I like that.
